My Story
Hello! I’m Vida Drah, a Provisional Clinical Social Worker registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW), and I have spent the last 15 years supporting individuals from all walks of life. My journey in social work and counselling has been deeply shaped by the diverse clients I’ve had the honour of working with—each one bringing their unique stories and strengths.

I understand that life’s challenges can often leave us feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Having walked with many through their most difficult moments, I believe in the power of safe, compassionate guidance to help others find balance and healing. My goal is to offer a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward with clarity and confidence.

At Verity Counselling, I blend my knowledge of trauma-informed practice with an empathetic and individualized approach, because your story matters. Together, we’ll navigate life’s complexities and create a path toward the balance and peace you seek.
My Philosophy
Life is filled with experiences and situations that bring on moments of pleasure and pain, happiness and sadness. Sometimes we thrive, and other times we get stuck in a state of adversity with little will or power to live and grow. Other times, we fluctuate between positive and negative events, seeking to make meaning of our experiences and how they relate to the world around us. Additionally, the challenges of modern life, whether related to health, finances, relationships, or decision making, can lead to emotional and mental difficulties.
Counselling offers a way to navigate these life challenges safely and confidently. People seek counselling to improve their well-being, develop effective coping mechanisms, deal with stresses of life, heal from emotional pain, realize their abilities, or to attain productive lives to the best of their ability.
Counselling can be a life-changing and fulfilling experience, but some people may find it daunting. If you are considering counselling, I am happy to help you set achievable goals based on your values and beliefs and offer personalized support that aligns with your needs. I work ethically and creatively with a diverse range of clients, always focusing on the outcomes they desire.
At Verity, I employ an array of concepts and techniques to understand and address the social, emotional and psychological problems that clients present; interventions are carried out safely and competently within the framework of trauma-informed practice. Verity offers an atmosphere of safety, transparency and trustworthiness, collaboration, and empowerment. Whether your need is for brief or long-term counselling, Verity is aimed at helping you gain a sense of balance and vitality to carry on confidently with your life within.
